Q: How can I get started with programming the DSP on the NeXT?\

A: Every NeXT computer has a Motorola DSP56001 signal processing chip on–board. There are many ways to use the DSP; the best approach will vary with your application.\
\
There are several different levels at which you can use the DSP:\
\
\b • Demo programs:
\b0 No programming involved, shows off the basic capabilities of the DSP.\
\b • Music Kit:
\b0 Best suited for synthesis of music, typically in real–time.\
\b • AP Library:
\b0 Array Processing made simple using the DSP.\
\b • Sound Library:
\b0 Several of the Sound Library functions can load and run DSP programs\
\b • Sound Driver:
\b0 The low-level interface to the DSP for specialized applications.\
